FAQ

What documents do I need to register my child?

You will need to complete an application form and registration form.  Your child’s birth certificate, and baptismal certificate, (if applicable), should also be included with the application.  Immunization records are also required.

 

When can I register my child?

 

Registration begins at the end of January.  Completed paperwork should be submitted to the school office.  At the time of registration, all documents listed above must be submitted, along with the non-refundable registration fee.

 

Does St. Anthony provide Before and Aftercare?

 

Drop-off begins at 7:35 a.m.  Before Care begins at 7:00 a.m.   The charge is $5.00 per day billed on a monthly basis.  Aftercare is available from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on regular school days and on half days from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The fee for Aftercare is $8.00 per hour for one child, $10.00 per hour for two children and $12.00 per hour for three children.  Aftercare is billed weekly. There is a $40.00 registration fee for Aftercare.

 

What type of extra-curricular/sports activities do you have?

We offer boys and girls basketball for grades 3 through8; cheerleading grades 4 through 8.  We also offer afterschool clubs for students of all grade levels.  We also have Christmas Concerts and our annual Spring Play.  Students in grades 6 through 8 may participate in the play.  Aladdin, Willy Wonka, Annie, and Frozen Jr. are a few of the productions our students have performed on stage!

 

Do you provide a hot lunch program?

Yes, Nicholas Market of North Haledon provides our lunch service Monday through Thursday. All lunches are ordered and paid for on-line through the Nicholas Market website. 

 

What are the requirements for the uniform?

What are my fundraising and parent participation obligations?

All families are required to sign a Home School Association Parent Participation Contract. 

 

In addition, you will be required to provide a minimum of 12 hours of volunteer time (6 hours required at the Parish Feast).There are many family events held during the school year that you will be able to volunteer your time. It is a nice way to get to know the other families at SAS. If you are unable to volunteer you can opt out for $200.00.

 

What options do I have for paying tuition?

All tuition accounts go through FACTS, which is our tuition management company.   Tuition payments begin in August and end in May .  If you choose, you may also pay in full prior to the beginning of the school year.  If you pay your tuition in full, you will receive a $100 discount.

 

Other than the Registration fees, what other fees can I expect?

There will be a fee for school supplies that are purchased by the school. Depending on the grade level the cost for supplies is approximately $85.00.

 

Does St. Anthony School provide Financial Assistance?

 

Financial Assistance: K - 8

Any family who believes they may be eligible for financial aid may apply to the Tri-County Scholarship Fund (TCSF) online at FACTS Financial Aid site.  Families currently receiving financial assistance from Tri-County, must reapply each year. It is required that families seek assistance from the Tri County Fund before requesting direct assistance from St. Anthony School. Please note that it is a requirement that all applicants to TCSF must reside in Morris. Passaic or Sussex County. The deadline for applying is February 1st of each year.

 

In addition, you may apply for the Diocese of Paterson Catholic School Education Trust (EdTrust). The EdTrust is now open to all of our families regardless of where they reside. You can apply at the EdTrust Online Application site. School ID and Name: 13989 — Diocese of Paterson Catholic Education Trust.  The deadline for applying is the end of February each year.

 

Financial Assistance: Pre-School & Pre-Kinder

Families who do not qualify for the Tri-County Fund or the EdTrust, or who may need additional financial assistance, may apply for aid from St. Anthony School.  Financial assistance may be awarded for families, however you MUST apply on the  FACTS Financial Aid site.  Along with the online application, all necessary documents must be submitted as well. No requests will be reviewed by the financial committee if the online application is not completed and accompanied by the necessary documentation by the required deadline of February 15th. First priority will be for active parishioners of St. Anthony Parish in financial need.

 

Note: You will not be eligible for St. Anthony School Financial Assistance (Kinder — 8) unless you first apply for both TriCounty and the EdTrust.
